Parent-Child Education Program
- Family Literacy Program
We seek to strengthen the families of first generation Latino immigrants in our neighborhood by facilitating relationships with and accessing the resources of the greater community. We believe that literacy and education will allow low-income immigrant families to escape generational poverty, and we encourage families to help each child earn a high school diploma. We believe that all parents, regardless of their own education level, want their children to succeed academically and that parental involvement is critical for children's sustained achievement. We believe that people are happiest when they are learning, that reading is key to life-long learning, and that the thoughtful blending of cultures helps each of us reach our learning potential. Our leadership is cross-cultural and we rely on volunteers and collaborations to maximize the impact of our family-focused education and enrichment programs.
